Research Interest

•   Transport and fate of Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) in the Biosphere, Lithosphere und Hydrosphere.
•   Environmental Risk Assessment with eco-toxicological parameters.
•   Human Health Risk Assessment using Dioxin Toxic Equivalent Factors (TEFs) for accidentally (eg. Yusho), occupationally and environmentally exposed groups.
•   Structure Activity Relationship (SAR) in understanding the metabolism and environmental fate of environmental contaminants.
•   Marine Biogeochemistry: PCBs as anthropogenic Tracers.
•   Hormone disruption studies e.g., Nonylphenol, PBDEs and PCBs.
•   Analytical Method development for trace organic industrial and agricultural contaminants eg., Polychlorinated Biphenyl (PCBs), Polychlorinated Dibenzo-dioxin (PCDDs) and -furan (PCDFs), Polybrominated Flame retardants and Pesticides.
