RV at IFM:
Traditionally, observational work at sea has been very important for the Institute's research work. The Institute operates three vessels and one boat of different sizes, capacities and ranges. Only R.V. "POSEIDON", however, can operate outside the trading area "Kleine Fahrt". Since the new R.V. "ALKOR" was commissioned in 1990, the Institute has developed a regional concept for the use of its vessels.
